Practice Notes
Practice Notes were introduced by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission to further assist persons or parties in their administrative dealings with the Commission.
Pursuant to rule 80 of the Industrial Relations (Tribunals) Rules 2000, the following practice notes have been issued for the guidance of parties to any proceedings.

This Practice Note operates subject to the unfettered and overriding
discretion of the member of the Commission into whose hands a particular
matter falls. The purpose of the note is to ensure that all parties
are aware of the approach to telephone evidence which will be taken
in the ordinary case, to streamline the taking of evidence by telephone
and to ensure that such evidence is taken with due solemnity. The Practice
Note has no application to conferences including dismissal conferences.
The Practice Note operates from the date of gazettal. |

Union Encouragement Provisions This Practice Note provides guidance to award parties about the filing
of applications to amend awards to insert the union encouragement provisions
issued in a Statement of Policy by a Full Bench of this Commission on
21 December 2000. |

Admissibility of Evidence of Matters Raised in Section 75 Conference This Practice Note operates to clarify the position with regard to
the admissibility into evidence in s. 76 proceedings of the Industrial
Relations Act 1999 of communications made and/or documents produced
in a conciliation conference required to be held by the Commission under
s. 75 of the Act. |

This Practice Note provides guidance about certain filing and hearing requirements to parties that seek the certification of agreements made pursuant to s. 142 of the Industrial Relations Act 1999. This Practice Note was effective from 12 April 2004. |
